FIFA 22: Ultimate Team servers go down with players trying to take advantage

Season 4 of FIFA 22 Ultimate Team has already got off to a bumpy start with the wrong team and league given to a storyline rewards player, and EA has had another problem that needed fixing.

Many players are unable to access the Transfer Market, Store, or even get signed into the Web App, which led to others taking advantage of the situation.

What happened

At around 9am ET / 2pm GMT, many players found they were unable to access FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

Some could get on the game mode, but not able to use the Transfer Market, buy packs from the Store, or sign in on the Web App if out and about.

The big issue is that this didn't apply to all players and those who did have access were ready to swoop in and make some coin.

Money to be made

There were soon calls from many people to take the servers down for all players, as it gave those with access an unfair advantage.

One of the top FUT traders, @FUTDonkey, said:

"Take the servers down, whilst you investigate [...] thousands upon thousands of your consumers are losing coins due to your incompetence"

Without access to the Transfer Market for all, some players tried to take advantage by making low bids on expensive players, with there less likely to be a bidding war to drive the prices up.

Then, they could sell the player on for more in the future, with the person who listed the player losing out massively.

Quick enough fix?

There was around an hour where people were unable to access the game, with things up and running again now.

If you were selling any players it would be a good idea to check out your coin balance, transfer list and club, as there is still some confusion around what EA did to fix the situation.

@FutSpy suggested that card listings with under 45 minutes left on them were added back to the owners club, with everything wiped from listings with more than 45 minutes remaining.

They then went on to suggest that EA were buying up all the cards just to restore them to the transfer list.

Confused? - we are too!

Another Twitter user reported:

"My listings are just closed and back in my transfer list, I think they’ve just removed them from the market if they are below a certain amount. A shame for those that sold cards"

There still appears to be an issue for EA to sort out, so we will wait for any more communication for the company whilst also hearing what the community has to say on the matter.
